Auburn High receiver commits to Troy

Troy football landed a commitment Sunday night when Auburn High School receiver Cody Core committed to the Trojans.

“I just felt like I fit in good at Troy,” Core said. “I always wanted to be a Trojan. They were my first offer.”

Core said he’s 6-foot-3 and now 190 pounds and projects as an outside receiver at the next level. He ran a 4.47 in the 40-yard dash at Troy’s camp on July 22 and earned an offer there. He also said he was offered by Southern Miss and UAB.

“I’m solid (with Troy),” Core said. “I’m glad to get this done so I can focus on the season.”

Core was recruited to Troy by quarterbacks coach Sean Reagan.

HERE is Core's rivals.com page. HERE is his scout.com page.

And here is what looks to be his highlight tape

And, now Troy's up-to-date, as best as I know it, commitment list

  1. Another "Gill" type receiver...can't go wrong like that...

  2. He's a good bit faster than Gill. I'd compare him to Jamel Johnson or Moncrief.

  3. I was thinking the same thing, Drew. This cat looks like he has some get-up.
