After going more than two months without a full football staff, Boise State Director of Player Personnel Julius Brown confirmed that he has accepted an assistant coaching position with Troy University.
I reported this on twitter Saturday afternoon, but just now getting around to posting it on the blog.
"I was offered and accepted the job today," Brown said Saturday in the e-mail.
The official announcement from Troy has not been made. Brown will fill the spot vacated when defensive tackles coach Maurea Crain was let go in early January.
Brown has been on the Boise State coaching staff for five seasons, spending three years as Director of Player Personnel and two as an offensive graduate assistant.
Brown was a three-year starter and four-year letterman at defensive back for Boise State, which has now emerged as one of the top college football programs in the country, from 2000-03. Brown is a native of Stockton, Calif.
