Plenty of new players see action

Troy's 39-29 win over UAB had many players see their first action in a Trojan uniform. Some highlights:

**Senior De'Von Terry had five tackles, a fumble recovery and a key fourth-quarter interception

**Junior defensive end Marty Stadom had a sack and another tackle for loss, on the same series when UAB backup quarterback Austin Brown came on. It could have been scored two sacks, but Brown looked to be running on his first play, but was tackled behind the line. Stadom had three tackles.

**Junior cornerback Zach Miller had four tackles and a key interception on a 2-point play that kept the lead at 10 points on UAB's last touchdown. Miller started the game.

**Junior cornerback T.J. Bryant had four tackles.

**Sophomore linebacker Eli Canton had three tackles.

**Redshirt freshman bandit end Tyler Roberts had two tackles, but a huge sack/forced fumble that led to Troy's final touchdown, a 5-yard run by Shawn Southward.

**Snappers Hunter Graham and Kendall Gibson made their debuts and Graham had a tackle on punt coverage.

**Will Scott kicked a 44-yard field goal, averaged 37 yards per punt on 6 punts, two inside the 20 and was 4-of-5 on PATs. Scott also kicked off.

**Defensive tackle Derrek Upshaw had a tackle.

**Junior quarterback Deon Anthony ran five times for 4 yards and was 1-of-1 for 7 yards passing.

**Redshirt freshman running back Daron White had one kickoff return for 10 yards. It was much longer but called back because of a penalty. Freshman Brandon Burks was also listed on the participation chart but I don't really remember him. Probably out on kickoffs.

**Other Trojans who played for the first time but didn't record a statistic were receivers K.D. Edenfield, Bryan Holmes (caught a pass but penalty nullified it), Trey Page, Chris Williams and J.J. Harbin, defensive backs Martrez Townes, Shaq Beverly, Chris Davis and Montres Kitchens, linebacker Mark Wilson, defensive tackles D.J. Johnson and Xavier Melton, tight end Tommy Blevins and offensive linemen Chris Hawkins and Dalton Bennett

So by my count, that's 28
